Community Building Groups

Join or attend events with other scientists as part of our community building groups, which combine professional development with networking, socializing, and community. Many of our trainees also choose to participate in our Initiative for Maximizing Student Development (IMSD Program)!

Learn more about each of our student-led groups, including Women in Science (WinS), Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS), STEM Pride, Global Perspective in Biosciences (GPB), and the Society for Black Biomedical Scientists (SBBS). Our community building groups co-host events with our career cohorts and in our professional development series; cohost alumni Career Networking Lunches to explore a variety of career pathways; and host networking events and socials. Our community building groups often join together to host panels to represent a variety of personal and professional experiences and backgrounds. Persons of all backgrounds are welcome and all events, we hope you will join us.
