Research Assistant II position at HIV Research Program at Walter Reed

JOB SUMMARY: A Research Assistant (RA) II position is open within the U.S. Military HIV Research Program at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (Silver Spring, MD) through the Henry M. Jackson Foundation (requisition number 212372). He/she will be responsible for cellular immunology experiments identifying vaccine correlates of protection from HIV/SIV acquisition and of HIV/SIV control. This includes performing in vitro laboratory assays to measure antigen-specific T cell responses and their transcriptional profile via multiplex qPCR and RNA-Seq. Responsibilities also include maintaining laboratory notebooks, analyzing primary data, presenting results internally within the laboratory, and providing support to other lab members.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of flow cytometry, PCR, and standard laboratory techniques; ability to follow general instructions; good communication and analytical skills; superb database management skills
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline
Minimum Experience: 2 to 4 years of laboratory experience
